Today I went to district court. It was an experience that can be called a… umm… mixed experience. It was not as bad as I expected, nor was it as good as it should have been.
I was with one of my friends from law college, and he was showing me around. During our tour, he randomly entered a court and argued there in front of the judge. He had no file in his hand. I was aghast. I have never seen such a thing in the High Court. I mean, these things happen in the High Court, but mostly lawyers are terrified in such situations.
The cool and calm way he handled things amused me even more.
In the High Court, I saw lawyers preparing much more, and I am sure that in the Supreme Court lawyers prepare to unimaginable levels to appear in front of the judge.
It is all about how much effort you put into one thing that matters in the long run.
When I was in the film industry, I realized that TV had people making the least amount of effort and earning more money than anywhere else.
Movies were a place where people put more effort into a scene, while ad films were made in an extremely precise manner.
That is why ad films have a higher success ratio than films, which have a higher success ratio than TV series in India.
As you go to the top of the hierarchy, you will notice that attention to detail increases.
At the bottom of the hierarchy, where TV shows are made and district courts run, there is a focus on quantity. Then there is the topmost level, where quality matters more.
At the bottom level, everything is diluted, while at the topmost level everything is concentrated.
In life, I think everyone has to make a decision about whether he wants to go with quality or quantity.
Talking about money, there is money in every field, and people who know how to earn money can earn it anywhere.
Further, I would like to tell you that I met many “dabangs” in every field, and the more “dabang” a person is, the more that person earns.
Fearful people don’t earn anything. You have to be fearless to be at the top.
Irrational fear causes people to avoid things that would bring them money or cause discomfort, while people who don’t think too much about the future end up being successful.
I want to be successful, and I have realized it doesn’t matter which part of the hierarchy you belong to—top, middle, or bottom—you have to be fearless to be successful.
Be bold and be fearless. It is easier said than done. It is in your nerves to be that person. It comes from genes and from your parents. There are no other factors contributing to it.
It depends on how you choose your life. Being fearless should be your only option.
The person who is scared most of the time ends up nowhere.
With fearlessness comes confidence, and both of them support each other and can’t live without each other. One cannot be confident unless he is fearless.
Choose your arena and then be bold and action-oriented. There is no other way to be successful.
